George: “If, in fact it is the idea that mortals arrive on the Mansion Worlds with a new mind, as we are taught in our text, I submit that this new mind, this Morontia mind, comes complete with its own innate abilities. Am I right?”

The Scribe: “It could be said that you are right, whilst you are perhaps equally wrong on the score. Firstly, as many of your mortal youngsters appear to be able to fashion articles their elders or ancesters produced, there is a proven mental register of what came before, sometimes many generations in your past. Somehow the ability is passed on. Secondly, it is possible for one to see and copy a procedure and thirdly, one can simply invent ‘the new thing’, never before seen on this world.

“There is, however, no comparison between what happens on this world and what happens beyond this evolutionary realm. Always remember that here your thinking darts between chemical and electrical processes, whilst the morontial process is entirely of an electrical kind and therefore decidedly faster. Still, that “decidely faster” is no proof whatever that you have found the reason for what you witnessed on that Morontia World. There are innate abilities belonging to the collective morontia mind.

“Yes, hear what I say, ‘There are innate abilities belonging to the collective morontia mind.’ As there are personal innate abilities, there are also group innate abilities and so it was you saw some 60 students of all sizes spread out into a group where 8’ giants at the back could see their teachers at the front of the stone-build classroom over the heads of those no taller than 2’6”. And all this came about in less than 2 seconds. As well, no one wrong-footed another and no one bumped into another. They were like a mega flock of starlings, like a huge school of fish in perfect manoeuvring.

“The mansion worlds, each of them in turn, will hand to you something new, something precious, and soon you will learn that, indeed, you have arrived to become truly God-like in your ways.

“I AM the Damascus Scribe, also known as, Sananda.”

Midwayer Mathew: “Greetings to you all who ‘dwell’ on the many 11:11 Lists of different languages. This is Midwayer Mathew (33-3-33). I am an alien long-term resident on your beautiful planet. My brothers and sisters all voted to come here and acquire experience with those of likely rebellious planets of the outer reaches of our universes. When this receiver of messages asked Machiventa Melchizadek for 50,000 more Midwayers, we were already here — yes, for 20 years already. That is all for me. My task at this hour is to aid Teacher Samuel.”

George: “Thank you, brother Mathew.”

Teacher Samuel: “Greetings to you, my favorite Urantia mortals. I have prepared a short lesson for you, my students, and even though it may seem unusual it is important for you all to give it much thought. ‘And why is this so?’ you might ask. Well, my friends, there comes a time in your lives when a most crucial decision is to be made and that is; to become a Celestial Teacher to those who still live on their evolutionary worlds. I hear you say that you will be a teacher until Paradise and beyond, but what I speak of is you putting your fusion with your Thought Adjuster on hold for a time.

“Firstly, let us look at this from the viewpoint of the Adjuster (TA). Although He or She is still only indwelling you, His or Her knowledge of future fusion is absolute, simply because TA’s are of God and therefore are God, with infinite trust and infinite patience. They will have advice for you and all for the best, but since you are not fused this will likely be your very last solo decision to make. Think of it; Paradise will be ‘calling’ you, loudly, make no mistake. However, you will also be made aware of the fact that you will in one way or other be catering to the mortal population of some far-away evolutionary world.

“You are from a rebellious world and I know, though only to a degree and from my life on Panoptia, what that entails. For you and quite a few others on your world to go on to Paradise without an extensive teaching career would be an overall loss compared to the progress made and the relatively insignificant amount of time, shall we say, even under a 100-year teaching contract. There isn’t now and there never will be a true spiritual reference to evolutionary life, nor a true evolutionary reference to spiritual life. The thorough knowing of all evolutionary existance before crossing ‘that border’ is heartily recommended.

“I spent an extraordinary amount of time contemplating what it could be that I would want, only to, in the end, conclude that all that mattered was what every other personality and my TA would want.

“This is your friend, teacher, and successful bio-chemist, Samuel of Panoptia.”

I thought the Scribe to be an old Egyptian man of great knowledge by the way he sounded, but he looked rather young when he spoke to me about a deeply troubled young man who had suddenly lost his even younger wife. I would later find out The Scribe was never human, but the now personalized Adjuster of Jesus the Christ (Sananda).

The Scribe: “We are here, and we are connected in more ways than you can realize. And we are also connected much more often than you can imagine. So many times in what we communicate, there is a blurring of the input of one or another in the purely spiritual realm we occupy. We may well express ourselves simultaneously, in fact, as if we were one, because our mindedness does converge.

“My dear friend, so frequently do you wonder about whether a permanent liaison is established in your every-day busying. Rest assured that you are well cared for in everything you do. This is the Scribe, and I am here with you now, and I am far from alone. I want to briefly communicate with you about the ups and downs of human existence.

“Many of you on this world experience severe ups and downs, much more so than (those) on most worlds, and your short lives on this earth can be extreme learning experiences during which the question is often asked, “Am I then also set back in a spiritual sense? When I might be troubled, when I might despair, when I am depressed or traumatized, am I then also less of a spiritual reality? Am I less vibrant? Am I less real? Am I less of a spiritual being?”

“But, no! The troubles that come your way, the hurdles placed on your path and the difficulties that you may experience, may temporarily place your soul growth on hold should you allow your focusing on the problem to take all your energy. There may be no great soul progress at these times, and yet, should you roll up your sleeves and tackle the adversity, the more credit to you. And that is why these troubled worlds produce the most persistent and enduring of His servants.

“However, should you place yourself on a path of self-pity and self-destruction, and do so willfully, it may well be said that you will become a diminishing personality, and that your soul self could be seen as depleted, dim, anorexic, or less real. And yet, as you bear up to the burdens so placed upon your shoulders, as you retain your trust in the Creator of All, you become more authentic.

“As you endeavor to discern the lesson you are being taught and carry forth these burdens (that) you are allocated, you will experience the circumstances under which you become more vibrant. As you happily brush the hurdles away from the narrow spiritual paths you walk into eternity, we, your ever-present comrades in your trials, successes and failures, discern you for the bright lights you emit.

“This is the end of my short lesson. This is the Scribe. Wherever I may travel, and whatever task I take on during this time-space sojourn, you and I are linked by an umbilical cord of love, and light and pre-knowledge of glorious times to come. You may (now) scribe this lesson.”

George: “Thank you dear Scribe.”

The Scribe: “Another will speak with you now.”

The Scribe: “There are those who stand in front of a crowd and shout, ‘Me first!’ and there are those who simply wait their turn, because it will come. Humility is indeed a priceless commodity and it is one of the most treasured personality traits your celestial Teachers detect in their favorite Urantia human charges.

“To us (Celestials) humility is born of a knowledge of precisely who you are and that you have worth — such a person need not prove anything to the self or to others. Humility is also patient — that which is wished for will come about if it is meant to be. And humility sees all others as equals — how could it be otherwise?

“For us (Celestials) humility must not be equated with low self-esteem as such is a damaging trait even we dislike. For one whose life and career is settled there is every reason to know the satifaction of humility and the appreciation others have for him or her.

“This is the trait humility is not; humility is not a lack of well-placed pride in what one has learned or learned to do, although simply not proclaiming or asserting it — a false pride. Humility is an innate humbleness an innate modesty.

“Our kind of humility belongs to one who owns that priceless commodity, is a ‘group annimal’ by nature and who knows and accepts that the distant future will bring ever greater associations in which all will be diversely talented, yet seen as equal to any in the group.

“To us humility is patient and not outspoken, but may carefully weigh up a solution to a vexing problem and quietly offer same. Achieve and remain humble, be a leader and remain modest. I am Sananda, the Damascus Scribe, your humble Teacher and Friend forever.”

Machiventa: “My greetings to you all. It is always an honor to be allowed to speak and to so many at the one time. It does my heart good to be in a place where I feel the dangers to our Correcting Time efforts to be absent, totally absent. Do not belittle the tasks of the Teaching Mission, human and celestial, this new Evolving Souls Community, or the 11:11 Progress Group when viewed next to the enormous gift that is the Urantia Book. The book is your text, its concise message is what all mankind needs, your spiritual involvements are the vibrant life it promotes.

“Do not doubt that those of strict religions and those that see reincarnation as their future will be your co-travellers on the narrow path to Jerusem and beyond. However, your numbers are now great enough to ensure that both the text, the teaching and (human) dictation and transcription will go on, no matter the potential crises man is eager to inflict upon himself. There will be continuity. Your labor of love to spread the words and meaning of the 5ER will ensure its teachings are to stay. The spark caused the flame and now the fire is burning.

“For those who are so interested: All major religions of today are but the foundations upon which the building blocks of future revelation and human logic authenticated by us will be placed. There is so much more to come and not just here. The wisdom and knowledge of the universes, the love and dedication of all God’s species, and the embrace of the Father of all creation will be yours, I promise.

The Scribe: “For anyone brought up on a rebellious planet it is difficult to always remember that all of the Master’s creatures are kin, In fact, my friend, when Michael calls you His brother, you inwardly cringe a little for after all these years of comfortably ‘lining up for work’ with your Midwayer brothers and sisters as equals, the Master still awes you. And He awes you to such a degree that you once again clearly need to force yourself to see your innate respect for the Creator Son ‘happily sit next to’ friendship. How awkward is that? How difficult at least!

“Are you aware of this momentary, awkward feeling? Good! You know it! Do you know what causes these feelings? No! They remain a mystery and they may long be something to overcome for those young ones who unluckily endured the second world war of starvation in Europe. Your elders, of necessity, needed to ‘scrape’ for long hours to survive and few had time left over for their youngsters. Untrained teachers with their arrays of brutal punishment, even the doings of ham-handed priests, only ever deserved relentless distrust.

“For a deeply thinking child, for any child, really, this was not a world that fostered trust in grown-ups. Why trust a bishop who appointed that bungling priest? Why trust a pope who appointed that bishop? And who appointed the pope and according to that bible of God’s words was known to get angry and jealous? Took sides in wars? What legacy of misinformation and most errant human suppositions!

“The teacher with his whipping rattan cane is your brother. Surprise! The village priest is of your kin. What a blow! Even the pope is family. When finally you are released from the Urantia special ‘internment’ camp on Mansonia One, you will at last understand and fully accept that all God-knowing creatures of all colors, all lands, all religions, yes, all planets, are family. Your eyes will be opened and you will be eager to tell us that we were always right; that all are equal and that all are immediate family.

“In time you will be caring for that very family and you will do that well. On Mansonia, when you have unlearnt some remaining quasy spiritual beliefs, you will learn to love all those who now denounce you, distrust you or call you a fraud. For as much as they now think they know you, you will by then have taught them things of undeniable value and truth.

“For now, my friend, always do count on Me for the answers that don’t come readily to mind. I Am the Damascus Scribe.”

The Scribe: “It is a fact of life, evolutionary universe life, that the Gods see your tomorrow as They saw your yesterday. Yes, indeed, my dear friend, the Gods can foresee all of your life, from the moment of your birth to the very instant of your death, if they so wish. Gods will know your mind before you do and They will sense your next week’s distress when today you are deeply relaxed in meditation.

“Thought Adjusters are from God; indeed, they are God and therefore they are perfect. What is little understood is that they can be incomplete — yet perfect. I came into being by the Creator-Father’s simple wish that I would exist and so, I was. However, it can be said that a newly-brought-into-being Spark from God resembles as much a tabula rasa as does a human baby. That is where all likeness ends.

“Thought Adjusters, from the moment of their being, go through an education process and unlike the human offspring, they retain all they learn. This means they will be more complete, but not more perfect, as perfection does not depend on how complete one is. There are few like me, who attained personality by accompanying a Melchizedek, a Michael Son or a Paradise Citizen throughout their terrestrial life.

“Most Adjusters accompany humans on their journey to Paradise, but there are a great many with overseeing and advisory duties throughout inhabited, and as, yet uninhabited space. More on this later as I now hand you over to your Cherubim friends. This is the Scribe. Love…”

Frank: “This is Frank and I’ll be frank. We will take our time to be with you whenever you need us. We are honored to be your servants and I will explain: Alice and I were advised — make that ordered — to full-time study of human psychology as our life-long project. We looked with some degree of envy at our Cherubim kin permanently involved with human children. And now, since you accepted our friendship, we have the best of both worlds — the learning of our favorite subject and open interaction with you.

“Call on us at any time, day or night. There is nothing wrong with your receiving our words, just that you’ll tire more quickly for some time. Stay in touch. We will be there. Alice and I love you.”
